2019 TWIN CITIES AUTO SHOW
Presented by Speedway®
Names 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class ‘Car of the Show’
One Lucky Show Attendee May Win Their Own 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class
Minneapolis (February 14, 2019) --- The Twin Cities Auto Show presented by Speedway® has named the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class “Car of the Show.” The 46th annual Twin Cities Auto Show will roll into the Minneapolis Convention Center March 9 – 17, 2019. It is produced by the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association of Minnesota, Inc. (GMADA).
Feldmann Imports, Mercedes-Benz of St. Paul, Sears Imported Autos and the Twin Cities Auto Show will award one lucky Show attendee with a lease for their own 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan. The public may register to win at the Show in the Main Entrance lobby and at the Mercedes-Benz display from March 9 to 13, 2019. The winner of the car will be announced on Friday, March 15, 2019.
This four-door car is the newest addition to the Mercedes-Benz lineup. The A-Class compact sedan is perfect for those looking to purchase a premium sedan at an affordable price point, with all the features you look for in a new car, including the all-new MBUX (Mercedes- Benz User Experience multimedia system). Models for the A-Class include the Front-Wheel Drive A 220 and the All-Wheel Drive A 220 4MATIC.
“They call it ‘A-Class’ for a reason – because it is so Advanced,” says Scott Lambert, president of GMADA. “With this new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), the A-Class drives a new generation of user-friendly tech complete with voice recognition. All you have to do is ‘say the word’ and it listens to you. It is definitely the most high-tech Car of the Show the Twin Cities Auto Show has ever had.”
The MBUX infotainment system changes the game with a completely new user interface, natural speech recognition, touchscreen capabilities, and a new Touchpad. It incorporates artificial intelligence to improve the user experience, learning your habits over time and adapting to changes in patterns of behavior. The 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and the 7.0-inch touchscreen multimedia display are also equipped with standard Smartphone Integration with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto.
Under the hood, buyers will find a 2.0L inline-4 turbocharged engine that produces 188 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission, with shift paddles on the steering wheel, pairs the power of the engine with fuel efficiency, allowing for both fun and practicality.
Safety is a top priority in every Mercedes-Benz vehicle, and the A-Class is no exception. The new A-Class comes standard with Active Brake Assist, which can help to effectively mitigate or avoid the consequences of rear-end collisions with slower-moving, stopping or stationary vehicles ahead. Other safety features are available with the Driver Assistance Package, such as Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Emergency Stop Assist and the intuitive Active Lane Change Assist.
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC is an adaptive cruise control system that is able to provide route-based support to the driver in numerous situations and predictively adjust the speed when approaching bends, junctions or roundabouts. Active Emergency Stop Assist will apply the brakes to stop the A-Class in a controlled manner when the system recognizes that the driver is inactive for a long period of time. Once the vehicle comes to a stop, the parking brake will be applied and the emergency call system will activate. Active Lane Change Assist assists the driver by steering the vehicle when it detects that the lane is unoccupied.
The Twin Cities Auto Show is produced by the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association of Minnesota, Inc. (GMADA). The GMADA is an organization of 130 new car and truck franchised dealers in the Greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area. The 2019 GMADA Chair is Mike Roeder of Sears Imported Autos. GMADA President is Scott Lambert and the Auto Show Director is Mary Velline.
