May 14-16, 2021 Cancelled

Here is a message from the show:
The Grand National Roadster Show has been closely monitoring the current coronavirus outbreak and the government regulations made as a result. Due to the lack of clear guidelines from the state on how and when events can resume, Rod Shows has made the very tough decision to cancel the Grand National Roadster Show in 2021. Rest assured, we will return again in 2022 for a bigger, more exciting celebration with the cars and friends we all love. Stay tuned for more updates over the coming weeks.

Watch the important info of how you get into the Twin Cities Auto Show.

Newest Update:

Presented by Speedway®

State Fairgrounds Sets the Stage for the Biggest Show Ever, including Monster Trucks and State Fair Food

Saint Paul, Minn. (April 15, 2021) --- One month from today, the 48th annual Twin Cities Auto Show will take over the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The Show, which is the largest consumer show in the Midwest, will run for nine days: Saturday, May 15 through Sunday, May 23, 2021.

The well-being of event attendees, exhibitors, and staff is the top priority for Twin Cities Auto Show organizers. For the event’s COVID-19 guidelines, please see below or visit our website,

With 12.9 million square feet to play with – more than 30 times the size of its previous home of the Minneapolis Convention Center – this year’s Twin Cities Auto Show is guaranteed to be the biggest, boldest, and best Twin Cities Auto Show in history.

Having the expansive 322-acre Minnesota State Fairgrounds as their playground has given show organizers the opportunity to THINK BIG when it comes to booking new attractions. And, when it comes to big, we’re talking MONSTROUS!

Here are some of the 2021 Twin Cities Auto Show’s biggest attractions:

Monster Trucks on the Midway featuring The RAMINATOR
The RAMINATOR, the 10-feet tall, 12-feet wide and five-ton behemoth, is returning to the Auto Show. But, instead of sitting still in a building, the RAMINATOR is bringing some of its RAM family of monster trucks to put on multiple car crushing shows each day outside on the fairgrounds Midway area.

Fans will have the rare opportunity of RIDING in a RAMINATOR with a professional driver. Plus, guests will have the chance to jump up into a stationary RAMINATOR to check out the driver’s view.

Engines will be REVVED! Cars will be CRUSHED! You don’t want to miss it!

The RAMINATOR Monster Truck

Fair Food
What’s a trip to the fairgrounds without eating your favorite fair food like cheese curds, Pronto Pups and deep-fried pickles? More than a dozen well-known State Fair restaurants and stands will be open for hungry Auto Show goers, including Al’s Subs, Ball Park Café*, Barona (cheese-on-a-stick), Blue Moon Dine-In Theater, Coasters Beer Garden*, Fresh French Fries, Hansen’s, Hildebrand*, Lulu’s*, Mancini’s Al Fresco*, Preferred Pickle, Pronto Pup, Ribar (cheese curds) Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar, and Tom Thumb Mini Donuts. Those noted with an asterisk will serve beer and/or wine.
Themed Blocks and Neighborhoods
With its new address, the Show is also moving into new Neighborhoods. Blocks on the fairgrounds will be dedicated to showcasing collections of themed vehicles, such as electrics and hybrids, mighty military mobiles, outdoor adventure cruisers, luxury dream cars, motorcycles, passenger trucks, classics and customs.
Truck Track
Did you know that over 86% of new vehicle sales in Minnesota are in the light truck segment? The Truck Track will give consumers the chance to ride and compare a variety of truck models from different brands. Professional drivers will drive current – and future! – truck lovers around this new test track.
Daily Parades
Each day at 2 p.m., colorful and entertaining processions of car clubs, cool vehicles, and grand marshals will make their way through the fairgrounds. Want to march with us? Register online at under “Show Features.”
Ride & Drive
Yes, you can truly test drive your next vehicle at the Twin Cities Auto Show! The popular Ride & Drive attraction returns allowing show attendees the chance to get behind the wheel and hit the streets of the fairgrounds in a new car, SUV, crossover, or truck. A roster of available makes and models to try out will be released soon.

Twin Cities Auto Show Announces Move of Dates and Location

West Saint Paul, Minn. (December 14, 2020) ---- Earlier today, organizers of the Twin Cities Auto Show announced it would move its 2021 show to May 15 - 23 and hold it at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minn. This is a departure from the show’s traditional location and show dates at the Minneapolis Convention Center in March.

“Moving the show back two and a half months and going to an outdoor venue gives us a few advantages,” stated Scott Lambert, President of the Greater Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association (GMADA) which owns and operates the annual auto show.

“It provides us with some more time for the medical community to work its way toward a solution for COVID-19,” he stated. “And the outside venue will provide our guests with more space for social distancing and fresh air.”

“We are very excited to be planning a 2021 Auto Show,” stated GMADA Chair Barb Hilbert. “The State Fairgrounds is a familiar place for Minnesotans and the additional space will allow us to provide show-goers with many more experiential opportunities.”

“You’ll see a lot that’s familiar and a lot that’s new,” stated Show Director Mary Velline. “We expect the factory displays and driving tracks like Camp Jeep to return, but the fairgrounds gives us a chance to celebrate the auto industry in even greater ways.”

“There will be more ride and drives, vehicle demonstrations, highlights for emerging technologies such as electric vehicles and lots of the trucks that Minnesotan’s love to drive. We plan on producing a distinctive extravaganza,” she concluded.

The Twin Cities Auto Show presented by Speedway will open Saturday, May 15 and run through Sunday, May 23, 2021. Tickets are now being offered for the discounted price of $10. Parking will be free. For more information on the show and to purchase tickets, please visit .
