ANNOUNCING THE

2012 AULT PARK CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE:

A CENTURY OF AMERICAN POWER

CINCINNATI, OH – September 16, 2011 — The Ault Park Concours d’Elegance, an annual classic car show in its 35th year, will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Cincinnati’s historic Ault Park. The event, with five classes representing the theme “A Century of American Power,” will showcase a range of classic high-powered American automobiles, as a tribute to the performance leaders through the decades, including:

· Brass Era / Antique – Lotsa’ Liters

· Classic Power – Large Displacement & Supercharged 1925-1948

· Post-War Power – Full-sized Specials & Fuelies 1949-1960

· Muscle Car Era – Small Cars, Big Engines 1961-1971

· Retro Muscle – Rebirth of American Power

In addition to the event’s featured displays, there will be special displays, including historic dragsters, vintage wooden boats and “A Celebration of Morris Garages – MG”. The 2012 Concours will also include thirteen classes of classic, vintage and exotic automobiles and motorcycles – ensuring an impressive overall event for every enthusiast.

The annual Ault Park Concours d’Elegance benefits The Arthritis Foundation, Ohio River Valley Chapter, focusing on services to local families with children affected by Juvenile Arthritis.

The 2011 event themed “Red Hot Rides: Ferraris and Fire Engines” featured 206 automobiles, drawing over 5,300 attendees.

The June 10 public event will be accented by a fundraising gala on Friday, June 8, 2012. Adding to the weekend events are the Countryside Tour and Garage Party on Saturday, June 9, 2012.

8th Annual Canterbury Corvette Fest – Press Release

The 8th Annual Canterbury Corvette Fest, sponsored by GMC Corvette Set, will be held at Olde World Canterbury Village, Lake Orion, Saturday, June 16, 2012. The show is open to Corvettes of all years, stock, modified or custom. We are expecting up to 150 Corvettes to be entered and judged. An additional 50+ club member cars will be on display, although not included in the judged event. Registration begins at 8:00 am. with an Awards Ceremony at 3:00 pm. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in fifteen classifications. General admission to Canterbury Village is free. Participant registration is $25/car in advance or $30/car day of show. There will be a Silent Auction with a wide selection of items for everyone and proceeds from this Show and the Silent Auction will benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind. Leader Dogs has been the designated charity of the Club for many years; we have donated well over $121,000 to Leader Dogs over that time. This year the show will also feature the North Oakland Dixieland Jazz Band for a free concert during the show.

The GMC Corvette Set has actively sponsored car shows for over 20 years. Our motto is “We joined because of the car. We stay because of the people.” Membership in the club is open to all persons with an interest in Corvettes and monthly member meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Leader Dogs for the Blind facility in Rochester. Canterbury Village is a truly unique setting and has been designated an historical landmark in the state of Michigan. It covers an area extending over 21 acres and is host to 18 specialty shops including the 90,000 sq. ft. Aldridge’s Always Christmas, one of the largest and most unique Christmas stores anywhere! The main facilities were built with olde world craftsmanship with rich, luxurious quality and ornate furnishings. Materials used throughout the village include oak paneling and carvings from France, European armor, tapestries and an antique stained glass window from Scotland. The antique fireplace in the King’s Court Castle was shipped from England and creates an olde world ambiance.

One and all are invited to visit Canterbury Village for Michigan’s only all Corvette show held in such a beautiful setting. Bring the kids and come spend the day with us and take in some of the area’s most memorable Corvettes, the unique shopping opportunities, and the free Jazz concert.

Will be held on June 16, 2012 from 9am to 4pm.

There is a $20 Registration fee for competition cars, the show is free for spectators.

We have 20 trophy categories, including one for longest trip (with a special prize) and best club participation. We also have a “kid’s favorite” trophy.

There will be vendors from all over. Automotive, general merchandise, food, drinks. In the past we have had a Dyno – and we are working on the final stages of that for this year again.

The show if for ALL makes and models.

All net proceeds will go to local charities.

It is a RAIN OR SHINE event.

We will be having door prizes, 50/50 drawings, silent auctions (some really cool stuff this year!) and goody-bags. Also, those that register for and show their cars will receive a photo-plaque. These are really sharp – will include the Dads and Grads logo along with a 5×7 photo of their car, which we will take on site.

We are expecting at least 200 cars this year, plus the general public. This is the first year we are utilizing the Facebook and Twitter aspects.
